A passion for food
At CGC Events we are committed to producing the finest food with fresh and locally sourced ingredients
We want to ensure that the food you get is of the highest quality which is why you won’t find plastic pâtes and fish parfaits mass produced in other countries nor meats processed in enormous warehouses. We prepare all starters and main courses freshly on site from raw ingredients. So, if you can’t see what you want on the menu, just ask and we will endeavour to meet your requirements.
Keeping it local
Our commitment to local sourcing keeps local suppliers in business and that’s a huge benefit to Yorkshire. Employing local sourcing on such a large scale requires dedication and experienced buying to build a reliable supply chain. Local sourcing isn’t a passing trend, it’s something we’ve been doing for all the years we’ve been in business.
Our suppliers
We have a well-established relationship with our suppliers and use some of the best ingredients in the area to make sure our food is of the highest quality. To find out more about where some of our food comes from, please read our supplier list
Rhubarb comes from Aldroyd’s of Wakefield which is located in the famous ‘rhubarb triangle’. The triangle covers Wakefield, Rothwell and Morley and is well known for producing early forced rhubarb, which is cultivated by growing the plants indoors under dark and warm conditions.
Vegetables for homemade broths come from Poskitts, a family owned business that specialises in the growing of root vegetables. They are also supply produce for some of the leading supermarkets.
Smoked fish and game come from award winning smokers such as Bleikers in the Nidd Valley. This family run smokehouse in the heart of North Yorkshire prides itself on traditionally curing and smoking the finest quality fresh produce and preparing them to the highest standards – free from artificial colourings, flavourings and preservatives.
Let’s not forget the rich and creamy dairy ice creams from Yorvale, which are made using traditional methods and the finest ingredients from their family farm in the vale of York.
Whilst food is the centrepiece of the day we put as much attention to detail into selecting our champagnes, wines and beers. You may not know that the majority of our wines are specially selected from Townend’s of Hull, a family company in business over 100 years, Boutinot Frères of Manchester and Hallgarten Wines. Our Richelieu house wines have been blended under the supervision of our managing director and we have many other exceptional and unusual wines offering great value and often from small growers. Naturally, being Yorkshire, the beers we feature are sourced from John Smith’s of Tadcaster, themselves racing enthusiasts.
